The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) & TBI Cell shall be not only responsible for establishing healthy relationship with the industry but also explore the possibilities of setting up SSI unit under the aegis of the Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society-Amravati. The main objective of the cell aims at spearheading entrepreneurship movement and creating self-employment opportunities. The responsibilities and functions shall include (but not limited to) the followings.

1. To devise and implement mechanism for identifying agencies to fetch funds for activities related to innovation & entrepreneurship.

2. To devise and implement a mechanism for creating awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) by motivating student and faculties, organizing workshops / seminars on the same.

3. To devise and implement a mechanism for patenting of the products or innovations and securing the prototypes/processes/products under intellectual property rights.

4. To devise and implement a mechanism for organizing national/international level conferences/seminars/workshops for creating awareness on Entrepreneurship, both for the students and faculty.

5. To work out and execute any other activity related with the entrepreneurship which is useful for the inculcating innovative thinking and intellect enhancement. The overall aim of the IEDC will be to create conductive environment for exposing students to various aspects of industry.

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development(IEDC) & TBI Cell Coordinator shall work in coordination with other Cell Coordinators and HODs. Further, he shall be responsible for suggesting budgetary provision for activities related to the Cell.

  1. National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST) sponsored Faculty Development Programme from 4th October 2018 to 17th October 2018.

Department of Science & Technology through NSTEDB (National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Board) promotes Entrepreneurship through various funded or sponsored programmes. This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is one such sponsored programme by NSTEDB DST. The aim of the programme is to equip teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students and guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial career. The objective is

to train and develop professionals in entrepreneurship development so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating young Science & Technology persons to take up entrepreneurship as a career.

A number of experts including National Trainers, MSME personnel, bank Officials, Young Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship motivators etc were invited to guide the participants. An Industrial visit too was a part of this FDP, wherein the participants were able to experience the actually functioning of an industry and had opportunity to interact with the Entrepreneurs.

25 participants from in and around the region were benefited from the same. The training had an excellent Faculty feedback.

  • MSME Business Incubator: The BI at PRMCEAM is funded by Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The main goal of a business incubator is to encourage the development of new business within the local community. By assisting a local entrepreneur to start a company in the area, the community is likely to benefit from an increase in the number of available jobs in the area and the additional revenue that is brought to the city or town as a result of the new business activities. Both elements can help to revitalize a local economy and thus enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives and works in the area. Prospective Entrepreneur or Business Incubation will be given between Rs.4 lakh and Rs. 8 lakh per idea/unit. Till date BI at PRMCEAM received 19 proposals for incubation.
  • MHRD Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA): Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties. PRMCEAM is registered for ARIIA on 20th Nov 2018. Data submission is started and last data for the same is 15th Jan 2019. Depending on the submitted data MHRD will give rankings to the institutions. The same ranking will be used for MHRD Institute Innovation Cell. Invited for ARIIA president function at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 08th Apr 2019 on the basis of good performance in ARIIA. Hon’ble President of India Ramnath Kovind, secretary higher education MHRD R Subramanyam, chairman AICTE Anil Sahasrabudhe, UGC chairman D P Singh, and NBA chairman K Agrawal were present for the same.

  • MHRD Institute Innovation Cell Formation: Ministry of HRD has established ‘MRHD’s Innovation Cell’ with the mandate to work closely with our Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to encourage the creative energy of our student population to work on new ideas and innovation and promote them to create start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. IEDC submitted the associated companies’ information to MHRD and AICTE for the formation of IIC at PRMCEAM. Mr. Shrikant M. Harle represented PRMCEAM at inaugural ceremony of MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) at AICTE, New Delhi.
  • Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination: In line with commitment to educate the intellectual property in India at school and college level, ERICSSON in collaboration with ASSOCHAM announced annual Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE). ASSOCHAM, the Apex industry body of the nation, in the spirit of its mission to impact the policy and legislative environment so as to ensure all round development of the nation, organized National Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE).For first batch (Registered up to August 30, 2018) total 8 students registered for the IPTSE course and same appeared for exam. This is held in the month of November (The window for examination was on from 12th Nov 2018 to 30th Nov 2018)
  • 50KW Solar Project at PRMCEAM: The installation of 50KW Solar is started at PRMCEAM, in collaboration with ECE India Pvt. Ltd., Amravati. Company has shortlisted 4 teams with 16 candidates for internship.
  • CSE Department Final Year Projects: IEDC contributed in the finalization of the 27 topics for the final year project groups. From the finalized project topics IEDC is providing guidance to 10 project groups.

     

  • Civil Department Projects: IEDC contributing for the development of final year projects of Department of Civil Engineering by providing guidance for programming Arduino and interfacing water valves with sensors.

  • Vishwakarma Award: Each year applications are invited in the prescribed format for the grant of awards through advertisement in important national & local newspapers. Respective managements of the organization where these suggestion schemes are in operation are required to send the applications on behalf of the workers. The accepted applications are evaluated by both Internal and External Evaluation Committees consisting of Three Experts in each with specialization in Mech. Engg./Production Engg./ Indust.Engg./ Elect.Engg./Chemical Engg./Ergonomics/Envir. Engg/General Magt. The applications so evaluated by both the Committees are adjudged by a Tripartite Awards Committee appointed by the Ministry of Labour& Employment, Government of India, solely on the basis of their technical ability and expertise. The Tripartite Awards Committee consists of representatives from Government, Employers & Employees.
