Curricular Aspects


The Institute implements the curriculum designed and developed by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, where faculty contribute at Board of Studies and Academic Council. Academic activities are planned and executed as per the university prescribed academic. Detailed planning for the course delivery is done by the faculty members by identifying effective pedagogy along with conventional tools. Faculty also use ICT enabled tools and various e-learning resources. To serve students with different back grounds and abilities, the learning levels of the students are assessed and special efforts taken for slow learners. Slow learners are assisted by providing extra classes, learning process sessions and academic counselling through group advisor. Different teaching methods and aids are used to engage the students in learner-centric education.  IQAC regularly monitors effective delivery of the curriculum and corrective measures are initiated to minimize the deviations. The academic audits conducted in the mid semester and end semester serves the purpose of quality enhancement. Various value-added courses, competitive examination coaching, entrepreneurship development programs, soft skill development programs are frequently conducted to ensure holistic development of the students and enhance their employability skills. Being affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, the institute is bound by the academic scheme and syllabus. Subjects related to professional ethics, gender equity, human values, environment and sustainability are incorporated into the schemes of various courses. Moreover, AICTE has mandated induction programmes for first-year students, as a part of which a step toward inculcating Universal Human Values (UHV) is taken. The institute encourages and practices experiential learning, participative learning and problem-solving methodologies through industrial visits, internships, surveys, field work, project work, participation in various national level competitions like Hackathon, Avishkar, Tech-Fest etc. Institution has implemented feedback system for enhancement of teaching-leaning process and support facilities. The feedback is collected from various stakeholders such as students, faculty, alumni, industry and parents. The evaluation process is done by individual department and action taken report submitted to Principal. At university level, the suggestions regarding curriculum are communicated to board of studies for consideration at the time of syllabus revision.

Teaching-learning And Evaluation


The sanctioned intake for various UG and PG courses is the guiding factor for admitting the students with reservation policy as per the government norms. Further, the research center capacity as sanctioned by the affiliating University serves as the sanctioned intake for the Ph.D. programmes in various subjects. The average admissions for the last 5 years is 74%. To ensure holistic development of students, the institute follows blended mode of learning for effective dissemination of knowledge. The institute has well qualified, experienced and competent faculty with a student to teacher ratio of 20 to 1, with 25% of the faculty having Ph.D. The teachers use different ICT tools, various e-learning resources apart from the conventional teaching methods. The institute encourages the students for online courses through MOOCS, SWAYAM and NPTEL, as evident from the figures during the year 21-22 with 450 students certified online. The institute has adapted experiential learning, participative learning and problem-solving methodologies through industrial visits, internships, surveys, field work, project work, participation in various national level competitions like Hackathon. The learning levels of the students are assessed and special efforts are taken for slow learners and advanced learners. The institute has a mechanism to identify the levels of attainment of Program Outcomes and Course Outcomes. The internal assessment process is carried out transparently and efficiently. Examination related grievances are addressed as per the process laid down by the Institute and University in a time bound, efficient and transparent manner. To keep abreast with the knowledge the faculty attends various FDP / STTP courses / International and National conferences. The faculty members are encouraged to publish research papers.  The average percentage of the students graduating in minimum prescribed period during last five years is 91.41%.

Research, Innovations and Extension


Prof Ram Meghe College of Engineering & Management (PRMCEAM) has been designated as Host Institute (HI) for implementation of the Incubation component under MSME Innovative Scheme (MSME Champion scheme). Total 12 start ups/ companies have been incubated in the institute. In addition, self-sustained Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) organizes basic awareness programmes on IPR to foster entrepreneurial spirit among the students. 25% of the faculties members hold Ph.D. The faculty members are encouraged to pursue Ph.D. programmes. The institution has six research centers for Ph.D Programme recognized by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati under subjects; Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, Chemistry and Physics under mentorship of fourteen research supervisors for various subjects. As an outcome of active participation in research, papers have been published in various reputed international journals. The Institute has published more than 400 research papers in the national/ international Journals and more than 22 books/ books chapter during the last five years. The library provides a host of books, journals, magazines and other publications. The e-resources comprise of N-List, NPTEL, Swayam Prabha and Research database. The participation in various students competitions inculcates the research and innovation temperament within the students. Noteworthy, The students of PRMCEAM have excelled in the Avishkar state level completion and winner of AICTE recognized Smart India Hackathon 2022(Software Edition). Students also participate in rural developmental, social and environmental related activities through participation in National Service Scheme, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and Unnat Maharashtra Abhiyan making them understand the ground realities, professional ethics and responsibility towards society. The Institute has 37 Functional MoUs with 55 activities under these collaborations. The Institute organizes workshops/seminars on Research Methodology, Intellectual Property Rights in particular patents and copyrights.  37 Patents have been filed and published by the students and faculties.

Infrastructure And Learning Resources


The institute has ICT enabled classrooms, laboratories for effective dissemination of curriculum. Under cocurricular and extracurricular activities sports facilities are in place. The college campus sprawls over  9.57 acres of land with total built up area of 14280.47 Sqm. The Institute has 24 classrooms, two seminar halls and one conference room equipped with various ICT facilities conforming to AICTE norms. Adequate budgetary provisions are made to maintain, renovate and augment the existing infrastructure. Administrative infrastructure like Principals cabin, Principal Office, and the HOD and faculty cabins etc. along with amenities infrastructure like store, canteen, boys and girls common room, medical room, girl’s hostel, transportation facility, ambulance facility and security services are in place as per AICTE norms. The college has high-speed campus-wide network connecting all departments. Full access is provided to all staff to access online resources and information through Broadband with total 100 Mbps of Internet bandwidth. CCTVs installed at strategic locations help to monitor the campus activities. The Institution has power back-up system to ensure uninterrupted power supply and maintenance of electrical assets. The Institution has power house installed with Diesel Generators and solar power 5 KW capacity contributing in energy saving in day time. The institution has a central library with a separate reading room. Library as a knowledge resource center has and excellent collection of books with 4394 number of titles, 39054 number of volumes, 600 SWDF titles, 2278 SWDF volumes, 54 total number of journals, 13 different number of magazines. The library has a NPTEL chapter under the agies of which video lectures from NPTEL are stalked. Further, the library has-learning material in the form of 650 CD’s, 650 NPTEL DVD’s, 759 Book Bank CD’s and 233 magazine CD’s.

Student Support And Progression


A strong student support system in the form of  state/ central government scholarship and NGO scholarship is in place providing financial assistance to the reserved category candidates and those belonging to economically weaker section. During five years, 84.37 % students from different categories and sections have availed the benefits of scholarships. Further, NGOs like  Lila Poonawalla Foundation, Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society benefited 185 students in the form of scholarship and fee waiver schemes.
The institution has an alumni association, which is registered with the charity commissioner, Amravati. Alumni are invited by the departments for career guidance, regular interactions and technical talks with students. Student participation at Inter University Tournament and Inter College Tournament contests is encouraged by the institute. Students have bagged 78 (medals, color coat, trophies, and certificates) in the Inter University Tournaments and Inter-Collegiate Tournaments, at Youth Festival conducted by SGBAU. All the achievers are felicitated at “EnggJoy” College’s Annual Gathering for their academic excellence and achievements at sports and cultural events.
Leadership is promoted through participation in various Clubs, Associations, Student Chapters, Cells and the Student council.  Active representation and participation of student is ensured in the committees like IQAC, CDC, and college committees. To create awareness about  physical and mental well being among students , various health check-up programmes, blood donation programmes, guest lectures (health issues/Stress management) by Doctors and  professional counsellors are arranged.
The Institute has a mechanism for resolving student grievances through various committees like Anti ragging committee, Grievance redressal committee, as prescribed by regulating authorities. The Training and Placement Cell of the institute conducts assessment required for placement. It also conducts several training programs for capacity building and improving skills like aptitude training, technical training, soft skills training etc and provides assistance for internships as well.

Governance, Leadership And Management


The Vision and Mission statement of the institute are framed considering needs of rural panorama, socioeconomic condition and need for adequate technical skills. All decisions of the institution are governed by management of facts, information and objectives. Principal provides effective leadership and administration for planning and implementation of academic, curricular and extracurricular activities.  The institution practices decentralization and participative management which is evident from the cellular organizational structure which grooms leadership at various levels. The institution adheres to AICTE norms and State Govt. policies through the affiliating University on recruitment (access, equity, gender sensitivity and physically disabled) with an effective welfare mechanism for teaching and supporting staff. Financial support and academic leaves are provided to teachers and supporting staff for attending workshops/conferences/seminars. In the significant areas of operations, like Administration, Finance and Accounts, Student Admission and Examination, e-governance has been systematically introduced. Due to the challenging circumstances created by Covid-induced lockdown, the institution strategically shifted all the Teaching Learning Classroom programmes to online mode thereby supporting blended mode of teaching. The institution has adequate budgetary provisions for academic and administrative activities. The internal and external audits are regularly conducted. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has significant contribution to institutionalizing quality assurance strategies and processes.
To summarize, the institute financed 16.64% of faculty during the span of last 5 years for attending various conferences/ FDPs/ STTPs/workshops etc. Further, the institute encouraged participation of 39.79% teaching and supporting staff during last 5 years.
