  1. National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST) sponsored Faculty Development Programme from 4th October 2018 to 17th October 2018.

 

Department of Science & Technology through NSTEDB (National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Board) promotes Entrepreneurship through various funded or sponsored programmes. This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is one such sponsored programme by NSTEDB DST. The aim of the programme is to equip teachers with skills and knowledge that are essential for inculcating entrepreneurial values in students and guiding and monitoring their progress towards entrepreneurial career. The objective is

to train and develop professionals in entrepreneurship development so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating young Science & Technology persons to take up entrepreneurship as a career.

A number of experts including National Trainers, MSME personnel, bank Officials, Young Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship motivators etc were invited to guide the participants. An Industrial visit too was a part of this FDP, wherein the participants were able to experience the actually functioning of an industry and had opportunity to interact with the Entrepreneurs.

25 participants from in and around the region were benefited from the same. The training had an excellent Faculty feedback.

Other Initiatives and Activities

  • MSME Business Incubator: The BI at PRMCEAM is funded by Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The main goal of a business incubator is to encourage the development of new business within the local community. By assisting a local entrepreneur to start a company in the area, the community is likely to benefit from an increase in the number of available jobs in the area and the additional revenue that is brought to the city or town as a result of the new business activities. Both elements can help to revitalize a local economy and thus enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives and works in the area. Prospective Entrepreneur or Business Incubation will be given between Rs.4 lakh and Rs. 8 lakh per idea/unit. Till date BI at PRMCEAM received 19 proposals for incubation.

 

  • MHRD Institute Innovation Cell Formation: Ministry of HRD has established ‘MRHD’s Innovation Cell’ with the mandate to work closely with our Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to encourage the creative energy of our student population to work on new ideas and innovation and promote them to create start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. IEDC submitted the associated companies’ information to MHRD and AICTE for the formation of IIC at PRMCEAM. Mr. Shrikant M. Harle represented PRMCEAM at inaugural ceremony of MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) at AICTE, New Delhi.
  • Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination: In line with commitment to educate the intellectual property in India at school and college level, ERICSSON in collaboration with ASSOCHAM announced annual Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE). ASSOCHAM, the Apex industry body of the nation, in the spirit of its mission to impact the policy and legislative environment so as to ensure all round development of the nation, organized National Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE).For first batch (Registered up to August 30, 2018) total 8 students registered for the IPTSE course and same appeared for exam. This is held in the month of November (The window for examination was on from 12th Nov 2018 to 30th Nov 2018)
  • Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA): Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties. PRMCEAM is registered for ARIIA on 20th Nov 2018. Data submission is started and last data for the same is 15th Jan 2019. Depending on the submitted data MHRD will give rankings to the institutions. The same ranking will be used for MHRD Institute Innovation Cell. Invited for ARIIA president function at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 08th Apr 2019 on the basis of good performance in ARIIA. Hon’ble President of India Ramnath Kovind, secretary higher education MHRD R Subramanyam, chairman AICTE Anil Sahasrabudhe, UGC chairman D P Singh, and NBA chairman K Agrawal were present for the same.
  • 50KW Solar Project at PRMCEAM: The installation of 50KW Solar is started at PRMCEAM, in collaboration with ECE India Pvt. Ltd., Amravati. Company has shortlisted 4 teams with 16 candidates for internship.
  • CSE Department Final Year Projects: IEDC contributed in the finalization of the 27 topics for the final year project groups. From the finalized project topics IEDC is providing guidance to 10 project groups.
  • Civil Department Projects: IEDC contributing for the development of final year projects of Department of Civil Engineering by providing guidance for programming Arduino and interfacing water valves with sensors.

            Project Title: Waste Water Treatment using Wet Land

  • Vishwakarma Award: Each year applications are invited in the prescribed format for the grant of awards through advertisement in important national & local newspapers. Respective managements of the organization where these suggestion schemes are in operation are required to send the applications on behalf of the workers. The accepted applications are evaluated by both Internal and External Evaluation Committees consisting of Three Experts in each with specialization in Mech. Engg./Production Engg./ Indust.Engg./ Elect.Engg./Chemical Engg./Ergonomics/Envir. Engg/General Magt. The applications so evaluated by both the Committees are adjudged by a Tripartite Awards Committee appointed by the Ministry of Labour& Employment, Government of India, solely on the basis of their technical ability and expertise. The Tripartite Awards Committee consists of representatives from Government, Employers & Employees.

Inauguration at the hands of Hon.Dr.Dinesh Keskar, President-Boeing Asia and Vice-President Boeing International.

On the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration year of Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society, to honor Dr. Dinesh Keskar and to inaugurate IEDC, Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society organized a grand event on 17th October 2015. It was blessed with the gracious presence of Hon.Dr.Dinesh Keskar, President-Boeing Asia and Vice-President Boeing International as the Chief Guest, Hon. Mr. Sameer Bendre, Chief People Officer at Persistent Systems as the Guest of Honor and other dignitaries.

Prof.P.A.Khodke, the Program Coordinator of IEDC briefed about the establishment and the role of IEDC along with the short term targets achieved. Followed by the introduction, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre was inaugurated by unveiling the curtain at the hands of Hon.Dr.DineshDeskar. ACTIVITIES AT IED

  1. Workshop on Innovations in Building Chemicals

Department of Civil Engineering and Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) jointly organized a one day workshop on ‘Innovations in Building Chemicals’. The workshop was held on November 3, 2015 at the Seminar Hall.  The workshop was successfully conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Sunny Surlakar, Head, Dept. of Admixture, Mc- Bauchemie India Private Limited, Mumbai and Mr. SaketDhumal, Regional Manager, Mc- Bauchemie India Private Limited, Nagpur Region.

Mr. Sunny Surlakar outlined the objectives and perspectives of the workshop gave an idea about latest addition to various Innovative Building Chemicals & Products and how the products are an aid towards attaining the goal of sustainable and durable construction.

Prof. S. Sabihuddin, Head- Civil Department, Prof. P. A. Khodke, Programme Coordinator – IEDC,Prof. P. V. Khandve – Workshop Coordinator graced the event.The workshop attracted participants from all Academics Institutes, Research Scholars and Industry. 40 participants attended the workshop.

  2. IETE sponsored three days workshop on ROBOTICS

A three days workshop on Robotics was organized by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre at EXTC Building, PRMCEAM between 7th to 9th Jan 2016. This workshop was sponsored by Institution of Electronics and Telecomm Engineers (IETE). It was a complete hands-on session with full involvement from students and faculties. Students from Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Civil Engineering attended the workshop. A total of 122 students were enrolled. The contents included :

  • Introduction to Keil compiler for microcontroller programming
  • Mounting of components on 8051 PCB.
  • 89c51 controller, MAX 232
  • 9 pin D-shell, Crystal
  • Reset circuit, port connector, power supply.
  • Interfacing and programming of L293D IC for stepper motor interfacing
  • Robot Chasis assembling
  • Interfacing and programming of LCD with microcontroller.
  • Programming and programming of 7 segment display interfacing with microcontroller.
  • Interfacing and programming Keyboard interfacing with microcontroller.
  • Interfacing and programming LED/ Buzzer/Relay interfacing
  • Introduction & demonstration of line follower robot.
  • Introduction & demonstration Quadcopter(Drone design).
  • Introduction to Agri robot, Spy robot and Aqua robot.

  3. Department of Science & Technology sponsoredEntrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC)

An Entrepreneurship awareness camp (EAC) was organized by IEDC between 11th to 13th February 2016. EAC was a sponsored event by Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi and supported by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. 75 students from various branches attended this EAC. A number of experts from various sectors including banking, Entrepreneurship Institutes, Management, Government organizations and Young Entrepreneurs. This camp also included industry visit to a number of Industries in the region in order to make the student aware about the practicalities in aiming for startups.

The EAC was aimed at motivating the students for becoming Entrepreneurs, guiding them with the process involved in creation of proposals, government schemes for funding, support organizations involved during the process, financial management, resource management etc.

It was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. M. S. Ali, Principal in the presence of  Mr. G. S. Gupta, Prof. Mrs. P. A. Khodke, IEDC – Programme Coordinator, Prof. K. A. Dongre, IEDC – Programme Co-Coordinator (PRMCEAM) , Teaching faculties and students.

  4. IEDC Advisory Committee Meet

The first Advisory Committee meet was held on 27th Feb 2016 at the Conference Room. The following members attended the same.

Convener Prof. P.A.Khodke briefed about Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society’s 50 years journey of service to education, followed by the presentation of Prof Ram Meghe College of Engg& Management.

IEDC Convener Prof P.A.Khodke presented a detailed report on the activities of IEDC since the day of its inception. This presentation included the Vision, Mission, Objectives, Functions of IEDC; status of the five projects sponsored by DST, Number of educational/entrepreneurial programmes conducted, patents filed, research publications etc. The members appreciated the activities being carried out by IEDC, include the patents, product development and the research publications.

This was followed by an open interactive session among all the advisory members. Following  suggestions were made:

  1. Identify list of Entrepreneurs and visits to the industry in order to increase Industry – Institute interaction for promoting Entrepreneurship.
  2. Explore local problems for product building as well as skill development: sectors like orange, cotton, textile, soyabean etc.
  3. Include business case studies in Teaching, so as to increase student interest in Entrepreneurship.
  4. Promote Entrepreneurship by organizing Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps.
  5. Explore the scheme of Incubation Centre by MSME & involve students for the same.
  6. Explore Low cost Solar panel development.
  7. Explore the areas of Lean manufacturing.
  8. Explore schemes by Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission- Government of Maharashtra.
  9. Plan to commercialize products wherever possible.
  10. Explore the possibility of providing consultancy through IEDC.
  11. Explore National Innovation Foundation India for strengthening Technological Innovations and rewarding them.
  12. Explore various venture fund schemes for innovative ideas.
  5. Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India – sponsored Suryamitra Skill development training programme in collaboration via MCED

IEDC is providing Solar training to students from ITI background in order to make them self dependent. The students below to rural region in the district. This training is being executed under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India – sponsored scheme named “Suryamitra Skill development training” via Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development(MCED). The students are being given practical hands-on in order to gain field knowledge so as to serve for practical setups, installation and maintenance of solar systems in the region.

This programme invited a number of Government officials to monitor the execution. The various offices included :

  1. Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA)
  2. Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED)
  3. National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE)
